Several cases of malignant carcinoids and head & neck cancers along with a few cases of endometrial, lung, testicular, pancreatic and liver cancers showed moderate cytoplasmic immunoreactivity. nuclear positivity was observed in a few cases. Follicular adenoma carcinoma of thyroid exhibited strong nuclear positivity. Remaining tumors were weakly stained or negative.
The protein encoded by this gene may be involved in the transitioning of erythroblasts from a highly proliferative state to a terminal phase of differentiation.
