The "Human Tissue Proteomes" chapters provide a knowledge-based analysis and entry into the Human Protein Atlas from different defined transections of the human tissue proteome. Each separate chapter includes a basic description of a defined proteome and includes analyses of expression patterns, gene lists, and examples of protein expression on a cellular level.
THE TISSUE AND ORGAN PROTEOMESi The tissue and organ proteome pages explore gene expression based on RNA-seq data produced by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project. Tissue and organs are divided into groups according to functional features they have in common.

The expression for all protein-coding genes in all major tissues and organs in the human body can be explored in this interactive database, including numerous catalogues of proteins expressed in a tissue-restricted manner.

Extended tissue profilingiFor selected proteins extended tissue profiling is performed in addition to standard tissue microarrays. The pages below contain results from extended profiling in the examined tissues: mouse brain, human lactating breast, eye, hair and extended samples of adrenal gland, skin and brain.
