Malignant cells displayed weak to moderate cytoplasmic positivity with a granular pattern. Strong immunoreactivity was observed in several cases of malignant melanoma, colorectal, breast, endometrial, gastric and liver cancers.
A majority of the malignant cells displayed moderate cytoplasmic positivity. A few cases of colorectal, breast, pancreatic and liver cancers expressed strong cytoplasmic immunoreactivity.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
UQCRC2 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
QCR2, UQCR2
Description
Ubiquinol-cytochrome c reductase core protein II (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
The protein encoded by this gene is located in the mitochondrion, where it is part of the ubiquinol-cytochrome c reductase complex (also known as complex III). This complex constitutes a part of the mitochondrial respiratory chain. Defects in this gene are a cause of mitochondrial complex III deficiency nuclear type 5. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2015]
