Malignancies were in most cases negative or showed weak nuclear positivity. A few cases of squamous cell carcinomas, mainly observed in skin, and a few urothelial cancers displayed strong nuclear and cytoplasmic staining while several cases of liver and testicular cancers showed moderate immunoreactivity.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
TRAM1 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
TRAM, TRAMP
Description
Translocation associated membrane protein 1 (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a multi-pass membrane protein that is part of the mammalian endoplasmic reticulum. The encoded protein influences glycosylation and facilitates the translocation of secretory proteins across the endoplasmic reticulum membrane by regulating which domains of the nascent polypeptide chain are visible to the cytosol during a translocational pause.
