Liver, thyroid and gastric cancers displayed weak to moderate cytoplasmic staining in most cases. Several pancreatic, renal and endometrial cancers showed weak cytoplasmic immunoreactivity. Remaining cancer tissues were generally negative.
A majority of cancer cells showed weak cytoplasmic positivity or were negative. A few cases of colorectal and breast cancers along with lymphomas and melanomas were moderately stained.
Cancer tissues displayed weak to moderate cytoplasmic positivity. A few hepatocellular carcinomas and rare cases of ovarian cancers showed strong staining. Several urothelial, renal and gastric cancers were negative.

The protein encoded by this gene is a component of centriolar satellites, which are electron dense granules scattered around centrosomes. Inhibition studies show that this protein is essential for the correct localization of several centrosomal proteins, and for anchoring microtubules to the centrosome. Chromosomal aberrations involving this gene are associated with papillary thyroid carcinomas and a variety of hematological malignancies, including atypical chronic myeloid leukemia and T-cell lymphoma.
