Most cancer tissues showed weak to moderate cytoplasmic staining with additional nuclear positivity in some cases. Several cases of colorectal cancers displayed strong staining. Most cases of gliomas, lymphomas and renal cells carcinomas were negative.
Many cases of melanomas, colorectal, skin and urothelial cancers along with a few prostate, lung, gastric and pancreatic cancers displayed moderate to strong cytoplasmic and and additional membranous staining in a few cases. Remaining cancer tissues were weakly stained or negative.

Description
Fermitin family member 1 (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a member of the fermitin family, and contains a FERM domain and a pleckstrin homology domain. The encoded protein is involved in integrin signaling and linkage of the actin cytoskeleton to the extracellular matrix. Mutations in this gene have been linked to Kindler syndrome.
