Squamous and basal cell carcinomas, several urothelial cancers along with a subset of tumors cells in a few cases of ovarian, endometrial and pancreatic cancers showed strong cytoplasmic and occasional membranous immunoreactivity. Strong cytoplasmic nuclear and membranous staining was observed in many hepatocellular carcinomas. A few colorectal cancers exhibited weak to moderate luminal membranous staining. The rest of the tumors along with stroma were negative.
Hepatocellular carcinomas showed moderate to strong cytoplasmic and nuclear staining. A subset of tumor cells in few cases of urothelial cancers displayed membranous, cytoplasmic and nuclear staining. Inflammatory cells were distinctly stained. Remaining cancer tissues were mainly negative.
Most malignant cells were negative. Most hepatocellular carcinomas showed strong cytoplasmic immunoreactivity. Occasional cases in other malignancies e.g. colorectal, stomach and prostate showed distinct staining.

Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a member of the sulfotransferase family. Sulfotransferases aid in the metabolism of drugs and endogenous compounds by converting these substances into more hydrophilic water-soluble sulfate conjugates that can be easily excreted. This protein catalyzes the sulfation of steroids and bile acids in the liver and adrenal glands, and may have a role in the inherited adrenal androgen excess in women with polycystic ovary syndrome.
