A few hepatocellular carcinomas displayed moderate to strong cytoplasmic staining. Several renal and breast cancers along with a few malignant melanomas and endometrial cancers showed weak to moderate staining. Remaining malignant cells were negative.
Few cases of malignant melanomas, colorectal cancers along with rare case of breast, cervical, liver and pancreatic cancer showed moderate cytoplasmic positivity. Remaining malignant tissues were negative.
This gene was identified by its similarity to the gene for human adenylyl cyclase-associated protein. The function of the protein encoded by this gene is unknown. However, the protein appears to be able to interact with adenylyl cyclase-associated protein and actin. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
