Several cases of testis, colorectal and thyroid cancers along with a few urothelial, pancreatic and stomach cancers displayed moderate cytoplasmic and/or nucleolar staining. Remaining cancer cells were in general weakly stained or negative.
A majority of cancers showed moderate to strong nucleolar staining. Several cases of stomach and breast cancers showed weak nuclear positivity. Most female genital cancers, lymphomas, lung and renal cancers were negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
MPHOSPH10 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
CT90, MPP10, MPP10P, PPP1R106
Description
M-phase phosphoprotein 10 (U3 small nucleolar ribonucleoprotein) (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a protein that is phosphorylated during mitosis. The protein localizes to the nucleolus during interphase and to the chromosomes during M phase. The protein associates with the U3 small nucleolar ribonucleoprotein 60-80S complexes and may be involved in pre-rRNA processing. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]
