Most cancer tissues showed weak to moderate cytoplasmic immunoreactivity, often with a granular pattern. Few prostate cancers were strongly stained. Lymphomas, testicular cancers, squamous and basal cell carcinomas along with several melanomas, liver, renal and stomach cancers were negative.
Cancer tissues displayed moderate to strong cytoplasmic staining. Most of the gliomas, lymphomas, skin, testicular, urothelial, renal, endometrial and cervical cancers were weakly stained or negative.
Most cancer tissues showed moderate cytoplasmic positivity. Cases of prostate, endometrial, breast, liver and urothelial cancers showed strong cytoplasmic immunoreactivity.

Description
Iduronidase, alpha-L- (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes an enzyme that hydrolyzes the terminal alpha-L-iduronic acid residues of two glycosaminoglycans, dermatan sulfate and heparan sulfate. This hydrolysis is required for the lysosomal degradation of these glycosaminoglycans. Mutations in this gene that result in enzymatic deficiency lead to the autosomal recessive disease mucopolysaccharidosis type I (MPS I). [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
