Colorectal cancers displayed moderate cytoplasmic, membranous and nuclear positivity. Few cases of duct carcinomas of breast, gliomas, prostate, stomach and endometrial cancers showed moderate cytoplasmic and nuclear staining while several cases of pancreatic cancers exhibited moderate to strong positivity. A single case of adenocarcinoma of head and neck showed strong cytoplasmic staining. Remaining cancer tissues were weakly stained or negative.
Several cases of colorectal, breast, prostate, endometrial, gastric and liver cancers showed moderate to strong cytoplasmic positivity. Remaining cancer tissues were weakly stained or negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
PPP1R1B (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
DARPP-32, FLJ20940
Description
Protein phosphatase 1, regulatory (inhibitor) subunit 1B (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a bifunctional signal transduction molecule. Dopaminergic and glutamatergic receptor stimulation regulates its phosphorylation and function as a kinase or phosphatase inhibitor. As a target for dopamine, this gene may serve as a therapeutic target for neurologic and psychiatric disorders. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
