Cancer tissues showed weak to moderate cytoplasmic staining. Many hepatocellular carcinoma and carcinoid along with a few colorectal and pancreatic cancers were strongly stained. Several lymphomas and prostate caners were negative.
Several prostate cancers displayed moderate to strong cytoplasmic positivity. Moderate staining was observed in fractions of cases in skin, liver, urothelial and cervical cancers. Cancer tissues in general were negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
DIS3L2 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
FAM6A, FLJ36974, MGC42174
Description
DIS3 like 3'-5' exoribonuclease 2 (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
The protein encoded by this gene is similar in sequence to 3'/5' exonucleolytic subunits of the RNA exosome. The exosome is a large multimeric ribonucleotide complex responsible for degrading various RNA substrates. Several transcript variants, some protein-coding and some not, have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2012]
