Cancer tissues displayed moderate to strong cytoplasmic staining with additional membranous and/or nuclear positivity in several tissues. Most of the cases of gliomas, lymphomas, lung, skin, urothelial, testicular, renal, endometrial, ovarian and cervical cancers were weakly stained or negative.
Few cases of stomach, pancreatic and prostate cancers showed moderate cytoplasmic and nuclear immunoreactivity. Remaining cancer tissues were negative.
This gene encodes one of the enzymes required for cellular nucleic acid biosynthesis. This enzyme catalyzes the transfer of a phosphate group from ATP to CMP, UMP, or dCMP, to form the corresponding diphosphate nucleotide. Alternate splicing results in both coding and non-coding transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2012]
