Most cancer tissues showed weak to moderate nuclear positivity with additional cytoplasmic staining in a few cases. Few cases of glioma, ovarian, thyroid, pancreatic and renal cancers were strongly stained. Lymphomas were mostly negative.
Most cancer tissues displayed weak to moderate nuclear, nuclear membranous and cytoplasmic positivity. A majority of lymphomas, lung, liver and renal cancers were negative.

Gene name
NUP35 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
MP44
Description
Nucleoporin 35kDa (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a member of the nucleoporin family. The encoded protein contains two membrane binding regions, is localized to the nuclear rim, and is part of the nuclear pore complex. All molecules entering or leaving the nucleus either diffuse through or are actively transported by the nuclear pore complex. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Pseudogenes of this gene have been defined on chromosomes 7 and 10. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2013]
