Most cancer tissues showed weak to moderate cytoplasmic immunoreactivity with additional membranous staining in several cases. Several renal cancers and hepatocellular carcinomas were negative.
Most cancer tissues displayed weak to moderate cytoplasmic positivity. A few melanomas, cholangiocarcinomas, colorectal and endometrial cancers were strongly stained. Several lymphomas were negative.

This gene encodes the BolA-like protein 2. The BolA-like proteins are widely conserved from prokaryotes to eukaryotes, and these proteins seem to be involved in cell proliferation or cell-cycle regulation.
