Malignant tissues showed mostly moderate cytoplasmic immunoreactivity. Nuclear positivity was also seen as distinctly stained nucleoli in some tissues. Malignant carcinoids and a few ovarian cancers were strongly positive. Colorectal, endometrial cancers and malignant lymphomas were mostly weakly stained. Cholangiocarcinomas were moderately stained whereas normal bile ducts were negative.
Malignant cells showed weak to moderate cytoplasmic immunoreactivity. Nuclear positivity was observed in several cases.

Secretogranin II (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the chromogranin/secretogranin family of neuroendocrine secretory proteins. Studies in rodents suggest that the full-length protein, secretogranin II, is involved in the packaging or sorting of peptide hormones and neuropeptides into secretory vesicles. The full-length protein is cleaved to produce the active peptide secretoneurin, which exerts chemotaxic effects on specific cell types, and EM66, whose function is unknown.
