Cancer tissues showed moderate nuclear staining with additonal cytoplasmic positivity in a few cases. Rare cases of stomach, pancreas and urothelial cancers displayed strong positivity.
Several cases of duct carcinomas of breast, cervix, colorectal, endometrial, pancreas, prostate and stomach cancers showed moderate to strong cytoplasmic and membranous staining. Several cases of thyroid, carcinoids and urothelial cancers displayed moderate to strong cytoplasmic positivity. Remaining cancer tissues were weakly stained or negative.
Protein tyrosine phosphatase, non-receptor type 20 (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
The product of this gene belongs to the family of classical tyrosine-specific protein tyrosine phosphatases. Many protein tyrosine phosphatases have been shown to regulate fundamental cellular processes. The encoded protein appears to be targeted to sites of actin polymerization. A pseudogene of this gene has been defined on chromosome 10. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2014]
