Moderate to strong cytoplasmic positivity was observed in several carcinoids, hepatocellular carcinomas and renal cancers along with a few malignant gliomas, colorectal, skin, pancreatic and endometrial cancers. Remaining cancer tissues were weakly stained or negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
PRODH2 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
HSPOX1
Description
Proline dehydrogenase (oxidase) 2 (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
The protein encoded by this gene is similar to proline dehydrogenase (oxidase) 1, a mitochondrial enzyme which catalyzes the first step in proline catabolism. The function of this protein has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
