The cell structure section of the dictionary is based on representative images of antibody-stained human cancer cell lines. Each sample is stained with an in-house generated HPA-antibody and counterstained with markers for the microtubules, endoplasmic reticulum and nucleus. The cells have been grown, fixated and permeabilized before incubated with the antibodies. Confocal microscopy has been used to provide the high-resolution, four-color images. The aim of the cell structure section is to highlight the organelle structure of a cell.
