Prostate cancers, several gliomas, colorectal, breast, urothelial, pancreatic cancers and few ovarian cancers showed moderate to strong cytoplasmic positivity. Other cancer tissues were negative.
Moderate to strong cytoplasmic immunoreactivity was observed in prostate cancers and cholangiocarcinomas along with several colorectal, breast, urothelial, pancreatic, stomach and few ovarian cancers. Remaining cancer tissues were negative.
A few cases of prostate and urothelial cancers showed moderate to strong cytoplasmic positivity. Stomach and ovarian cancers as well as a duct carcinomas of breast showed weak to moderate staining in a few cases. Remaining malignant cells were negative.

Description
Breast carcinoma amplified sequence 1 (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene resides in a region at 20q13 which is amplified in a variety of tumor types and associated with more aggressive tumor phenotypes. Among the genes identified from this region, it was found to be highly expressed in three amplified breast cancer cell lines and in one breast tumor without amplification at 20q13.2. However, this gene is not in the common region of maximal amplification and its expression was not detected in the breast cancer cell line MCF7, in which this region is highly amplified. Although not consistently expressed, this gene is a candidate oncogene. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2015]
