Cancer tissues showed weak to moderate cytoplasmic and occasional membranous staining. Several lymphomas and a few ovarian cancers showed strong cytoplasmic positivity. Gliomas were mainly negative.
Several testicular seminomas and cervical squamous cell carcinomas, a few melanomas and breast cancers showed moderate to strong nuclear positivity. Several lymphomas and colorectal cancers showed moderate to strong cytoplasmic positivity. Remaining cancers were mainly negative.
Moderate to strong nuclear staining was observed in a few cases of testicular cancers. Remaining cancer tissues were weakly stained or negative.

Entrez gene summary
The protein encoded by this gene is expressed in the nucleus and is a subunit of the cohesin complex which regulates the cohesion of sister chromatids during cell division. A mutation in this gene is associated with premature ovarian failure. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms. This gene has multiple pseudogenes.
