Rare case of pancreatic cancer displayed strong cytoplasmic and membranous positivity. Few cases of lymphomas, ovarian and stomach cancers were moderately stained. Remaining cancer tissues were weakly stained or negative.
Most tumour cells displayed weak to moderate cytoplasmic positivity. Strong staining was observed in hepatocellular carcinomas as well as cases of colorectal, gastric and pancreatic cancers. Carcinoids, a majority of gliomas, lymphomas, skin, cervical, ovarian and renal cancers were negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
DHRS12 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
FLJ13639, SDR40C1
Description
Dehydrogenase/reductase (SDR family) member 12 (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a member of the short-chain dehydrogenases/reductases (SDR) family, which has over 46,000 members. Members in this family are enzymes that metabolize many different compounds, such as steroid hormones, prostaglandins, retinoids, lipids and xenobiotics. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants and protein isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2012]
