Cancer tissues showed weak to moderate cytoplasmic staining often with a granular pattern. Several cases of papillary adenocarcinomas of thyroid, duct carcinomas of breast, hepatocellular carcinomas and prostate cancers displayed strong positivity.
Most cancer tissues displayed moderate to strong cytoplasmic and occasional nuclear positivity. Additional membranous staining was observed in many cases. Carcinoids, gliomas, lymphomas, melanomas, testicular, renal and prostate cancers were weakly stained or negative.

Description
Tumor suppressor candidate 3 (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene is a candidate tumor suppressor gene. It is located within a homozygously deleted region of a metastatic prostate cancer. The gene is expressed in most nonlymphoid human tissues including prostate, lung, liver, and colon. Expression was also detected in many epithelial tumor cell lines. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
