Cancer tissues displayed moderate to strong cytoplasmic staining in granular pattern. Membranous staining was observed in few cases of testicular and pancreatic cancers. Several cases of lymphomas, gliomas, melanomas, stomach, skin and breast cancers were weakly stained or negative.
Most cancers showed moderate granular cytoplasmic positivity. Several cases of prostate cancer along with rare melanoma, carcinoid and pancreatic cancer showed strong positivity. Lymphoma and skin cancer were weakly stained or negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
DOCK6 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
KIAA1395, ZIR1
Description
Dedicator of cytokinesis 6 (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a member of the dedicator of cytokinesis (DOCK) family of atypical guanine nucleotide exchange factors. Guanine nucleotide exchange factors interact with small GTPases and are components of intracellular signaling networks. The encoded protein is a group C DOCK protein and plays a role in actin cytoskeletal reorganization by activating the Rho GTPases Cdc42 and Rac1. Mutations in this gene are associated with Adams-Oliver syndrome 2. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]
