Most malignant tissues displayed moderate cytoplasmic staining. Strong cytoplasmic positivity was observed in several colorectal and testicular cancers. A majority of malignant lymphomas as well as squamous cell carcinomas in skin, lung and cervical cancers were weakly stained or negative.
Most malignant tissues showed moderate to strong cytoplasmic. Many cases of gliomas, testicular, urothelial, renal and gastric cancers exhibited weak staining or were negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
TRIM4 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
RNF87
Description
Tripartite motif containing 4 (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the tripartite motif (TRIM) family. The TRIM motif includes three zinc-binding domains, a RING, a B-box type 1 and a B-box type 2, and a coiled-coil region. The protein localizes to cytoplasmic bodies. Its function has not been identified. Alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different isoforms have been described.[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]
