Cancer tissues generally showed weak to moderate cytoplasmic staining. Some colorectal cancers were strongly stained. Several squamous cell carcinomas, endometrial, renal and liver cancers were negative.
Moderate to strong nuclear and cytoplasmic immunoreactivity was observed in most cancer tissues. A few cases of gliomas, testicular, urothelial, head & neck and cervical cancers were strongly stained. Some cases of prostate, renal, breast and hepatocellular carcinomas were weakly stained or negative.

Gene name
TACC1
Synonyms
Description
Transforming, acidic coiled-coil containing protein 1 (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This locus may represent a breast cancer candidate gene. It is located close to FGFR1 on a region of chromosome 8 that is amplified in some breast cancers. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2009]
