Malignant gliomas showed strong nuclear positivity while several malignant lymphomas and colorectal cancers displayed moderate nuclear or cytoplasmic staining. Remaining malignancies were weakly stained or negative.
Most cases of gliomas along with several lymphomas and a few melanomas showed moderate to strong nuclear positivity. A single case of high grade urothelial cancer showed strong positivity. Rare liver, renal and testis cancers showed moderate positivity. Remaining cancer tissues were negative.
This gene encodes a zinc finger transcription factor. The encoded protein likely plays a role in transcriptional repression of interleukin 2. Mutations in this gene have been associated with posterior polymorphous corneal dystrophy-3 and late-onset Fuchs endothelial corneal dystrophy. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.[provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]
