A majority of cancer tissues displayed moderate cytoplasmic immunoreactivity. Several urothelial cancers were strongly stained, while most gliomas were weakly stained or negative.
Cancer tissues generally displayed weak to moderate immunoreactivity. Several cases of malignant lymphomas, urothelial, gastric and breast cancers showed strong cytoplasmic staining while colorectal cancers displayed additional strong membranous immunoreactivity. Gliomas, skin, lung and liver cancers were negative or weakly stained.
Most cancer tissues dispayed moderate cytoplasmic and nuclear immunoreactivity. Colorectal and gastric cancers displayed strong cytoplasmic staining with additional membranous positivity while cases of gliomas and lymphomas showed strong cytoplasmic positivity.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
RAB11FIP1 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
FLJ22524, FLJ22622, Rab11-FIP1, RCP
Description
RAB11 family interacting protein 1 (class I) (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes one of the Rab11-family interacting proteins (Rab11-FIPs), which play a role in the Rab-11 mediated recycling of vesicles. The encoded protein may be involved in endocytic sorting, trafficking of proteins including integrin subunits and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), and transport between the recycling endosome and the trans-Golgi network. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. A pseudogene is described on the X chromosome. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2013]
