Most cancers showed moderate to strong nuclear positivity with additional cytoplasmic staining in several cases. Several renal cell carcinomas, hepatocellular carcinomas, lung cancers and a few urothelial cancers were weakly stained or negative.
Rare cases of melanoma, colorectal, skin and liver cancer displayed strong cytoplasmic positivity. Moderate cytoplasmic staining with occasional nuclear positivity was observed in a few cases of ovarian, skin and liver cancers. Remaining cancer tissues were weakly stained or negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
SYT15 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
CHR10SYT
Description
Synaptotagmin XV (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a member of the Synaptotagmin (Syt) family of membrane trafficking proteins. Members of this family contain a transmembrane region and a C-terminal-type tandem C2 domain. Unlike related family members, the encoded protein may be involved in membrane trafficking in non-neuronal tissues. Two trancript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
