Most cancer tissues showed weak to moderate cytoplasmic positivity. Colorectal cancers showed moderate to strong staining. Several squamous cell carcinomas, lymphomas, glioma and basal cell carcinomas were weakly stained or negative.
Several cases of gliomas, papillary adenocarcinomas of thyroid along with a few melanomas, hepatocellular carcinomas, endometrial and urothelial cancers showed moderate to strong cytoplasmic positivity. Remaining cancer tissues were in general negative.

Entrez gene summary
This locus represents naturally occurring read-through transcription between the ATP5J2 (ATP synthase, H+ transporting, mitochondrial Fo complex, subunit F2) and PTCD1 (pentatricopeptide repeat domain 1) genes on chromosome 7. The read-through transcript encodes a fusion protein that shares sequence identity with each individual gene product. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2010]
