A subset of cancer cells in squamous cell carcinomas of cervix displayed strong cytoplasmic and membranous staining. Few cases of hepatocellular carcinomas, prostate and ovarian carcinoma showed moderate cytoplasmic staining. A single case of colorectal cancer showed strong positivity. Remaining cancer tissues were weakly stained or negative.
Most cancer tissues showed moderate cytoplasmic immunoreactivity. Few cervical cancers were strongly stained. Most lymphomas and testicular cancers were negative.
Several cases of prostate and renal cancers along with few cases of liver, urothelial, ovary and breast cancer displayed weak to moderate cytoplasmic and extracellular staining. Plasma was distinctly stained. Remaining cancer tissues were negative.
Cancer tissues displayed moderate cytoplasmic staining with additional membranous and nuclear positivity in several tissues. Occasional cases of gliomas, lobular carcinomas of breast, colorectal, lung, renal, pancreas, prostate and ovarian cancers displayed strong positivity. Several cases of lymphomas and testicular cancers were weakly stained or negative.

Description
C15orf38-AP3S2 readthrough (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This locus represents naturally occurring read-through transcription between the neighboring C15orf38 (chromosome 15 open reading frame 38) and AP3S2 (adaptor-related protein complex 3, sigma 2 subunit) genes. The read-through transcript encodes a fusion protein that shares sequence identity with each individual gene product. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2010]
