Cancer tissues displayed weak to moderate cytoplasmic staining with additional nuclear or membranous positivity in few cases. Rare case of pancreatic and liver cancer was strongly stained. Several cases of gliomas, lymphomas, stomach, pancreatic, ovarian, prostate and breast cancers were negative.
Several cases of breast, colorectal, liver, ovarian, pancreatic, prostate cancers along with few cases of carcinoids, renal and thyroid cancers displayed moderate cytoplasmic positivity with additional membranous positivity in several cases. Remaining cancer tissues were weakly stained or negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
ZNF266 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
HZF1
Description
Zinc finger protein 266 (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
This gene encodes a protein containing many tandem zinc-finger motifs. Zinc fingers are protein or nucleic acid-binding domains, and may be involved in a variety of functions, including regulation of transcription. This gene is located in a cluster of similar genes encoding zinc finger proteins on chromosome 19. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants for this gene.
