Most cancer tissues showed weak to moderate cytoplasmic and nuclear positivity. Several cases of prostae cancers, hepatocellular carcinomas and occasional duct carcinomas of breast exhibited strong cytoplasmic immunoreactivity often with a granular pattern. Several gliomas, lymphomas, carcinoids, renal cell carcinomas and stomach cancers were weakly stained or negative.
GENE INFORMATION
Gene name
TRIM15 (HGNC Symbol)
Synonyms
RNF93, ZNF178, ZNFB7
Description
Tripartite motif containing 15 (HGNC Symbol)
Entrez gene summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the tripartite motif (TRIM) family. The TRIM motif includes three zinc-binding domains, a RING, a B-box type 1 and a B-box type 2, and a coiled-coil region. The protein localizes to the cytoplasm. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described, but their biological validity has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
