Most renal cell carcinomas, testicular cancers along with a few melanomas, endometrial, breast, ovarian, urothelial, head and neck cancers showed moderate cytoplasmic positivity. Other cancer tissues were weakly stained or negative.
Most cancer tissues exhibited weak to moderate cytoplasmic and nuclear immunoreactivity. Additional membranous staining was observed in colorectal cancers. Follicular adenocarcinoma of thyroid and a few renal cancers were strongly stained. Several lung and prostate cancers were negative.

Entrez gene summary
This intronless gene appears to have arisen from a retrotransposition event, yet it is thought to be an expressed, protein-coding gene. The encoded protein is a member of the phosphoglycerate mutase family, a set of enzymes that catalyze the transfer of a phosphate group from 3-phosphoglycerate to 2-phosphoglycerate.
